Tele Audiology
Tele-Audiology: the Highest Level
of Safety and Convenience
Self-isolation, COVID-19 protocols, health, travel and scheduling issues are a normal part of our daily lives that sometimes make a physical, face-to-face appointment unsafe or inconvenient. To meet these challenges with a safe and convenient solution, we offer virtual appointments, or tele-audiology.
Technology has a significant impact on our daily lives as we surge forward in the twenty-first century, especially how we communicate. Cell phones, tablets and laptops are within easy reach at all times and nearly every household and business features at least one PC, if not several.
Video conferencing has been a mainstay in businesses for more than a decade, allowing companies to conduct management and employee meetings with individuals on different continents. Long-distance relationships utilizing video conferencing are commonplace, and you can consult your doctor using tele-medicine.
Taking advantage of technology that is already linking people across the globe, tele-audiology provides an alternative way to getting the hearing care you need from your care provider without an in-office visit.

What is Tele-Audiology?
Tele-audiology allows you to connect to your hearing care provider for a face-to-face conversation via your computer, cell phone or tablet. Like our in-office consultations, tele-audiology allows you access to the same high level of hearing care you expect, but from the comfort of your home, office or wherever you happen to be.
Regardless of whether health, travel or scheduling problems make it necessary to connect with your audiologist, our tele-audiology service is available to you.
Tele-audiology along with certain hearing aid apps for your smartphone also allow your hearing aid specialist to make programming adjustments to your device from a remote location.
In addition to meeting your hearing care needs in a higher level of safety and convenience, tele-audiology is a less intimidating and more convenient way for you to connect a loved one who reluctant to seek help for their hearing with a hearing care professional who is able to address their questions and concerns.
How do Tele-Audiology
Appointments Work?
Tele-audiology appointments are as easy to schedule as any other appointment, maybe easier,
thanks to scheduling flexibility. Here’s what you can expect:

After receiving your request for an appointment, our patient care coordinator will call you to work out the best date and time to schedule your appointment. Once we have set that up, we’ve the tele-audiology ball rolling.
#2 – We’ll Send You a Confirmation Email
After setting the date and time, our patient care coordinator will send you a confirmation email, which will serve as a reminder for your appointment. In addition, this email will include information related to setting up and testing the camera and microphone on the device you will use for the appointment, as well as the link you will use to connect to your care provider.
#3 – Connect with Your Care Provider
When the scheduled date and time arrive, you’ll use the device you’ve set up for the appointment and the link provided in your confirmation email to connect to your hearing care provider for a face-to-face consultation.
#4 – No-Obligation, Initial Consultations
Our initial consultations provide you with an opportunity to have your questions, concerns and reservations about hearing loss and treatment options addressed by a hearing care professional without obligation. Should you or your loved one decide to pursue a hearing assessment, we will be happy to assist you with scheduling.
#5 – Troubleshooting and Customer Care
for Existing Patients
Our existing patients can take advantage of face-to-face hearing aid troubleshooting advice, remote programming assistance or to address other concerns with your hearing care provider using our tele-audiology service in order to receive the same level of hearing care we provide whenever you come into our office.
