Joan Kinnunen
Patient Care Coordinator
Joan was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. She grew up in the Renton area and went to school at Lindbergh High School in Renton.
When considering her next career move, Joan wanted to try something totally different. She previously worked at the front desk for a variety of doctors that specialized in areas such as arthritis, osteoporosis, and spine physical therapy. Joining the Highline Audiology team was a great way to apply her work experience in a new environment.
Joan’s daily responsibilities include answering phones, making appointments for patients, sending faxes to other doctors’ offices for patients, and helping patients as best as she can.
Helping people in general is one of Joan’s passions. She’s very patient when talking to a patient to find out what their needs are or when looking up the patient’s information on the computer and helping them find out what size battery or filter they need, for example. Joan stresses that she gets gratification from helping patients out.
When she’s not working, Joan loves to go fishing, usually in Elliot Bay Area 10 in Seattle, although she’s also fished the Campbell River in Canada for salmon and West Port, WA, for rock cod and halibut.
